The biggest advantage in options trading is the leverage. In share Trading if you have one thousand dollars you can trade in only one thousand dollar worth of shares, whereas in options trading, you can deal with ten thousand dollars worth of shares.

Naturally the risk is also considerably higher. So options trading are not for the newbies.
